Butterfly electrode for the lower back area (lumbosacral) is a common therapeutic practice for managing pain and for recovery after surgery or injury.
EP84604 SPEC 639, blue butterfly electrode 4″ x 6″ between the lumbar spine and sacral spine of the lower back. The lumbosacral is related to the small of the back and the back part of the pelvis.
The blue butterfly electrode is in a butterfly shape so when placed over the lower back it is easy to position, reposition, and remove. Another great benefit is the electrodes are reusable up to 10-30 treatments. They are for a single-patient use.
Each electrode has a skin friendly blue gel that is self-adhering. Importantly, the pads are latex-free, so perfect for individuals with latex allergies. May be used with TENS, microcurrent, and FES devices to relieve pain and discomfort.
When applying butterfly electrodes to the lower areas of the back, it is preferrable to consult with a physician, chiropractor, or physical therapist before treating in close proximity to the spine.
Using electrotimulation devices like TENS, microcurrent, or FES are to relieve discomfort but in most cases are not enough to support the recovery of the back, and lower areas of the lumbar.
However, using electrical stimulation helps with mobility and to reduce pain signals. The overall experience is to assist a patients recovery after surgery or strain from an injury.
